I'm Pauline and I founded Twrl from a deep love of cafe-crafted milk tea and the joyful ritual of sharing boba with friends and family. Growing up, black tea with milk was a daily staple in my home, and weekend boba runs were a favorite tradition. But as a mom and entrepreneur, I wanted that same indulgent experience—without the sugar crash, long lines, and calories.

Twrl is my modern take on a beloved classic: rooted in heritage, crafted with clean, innovative ingredients. Each can is brewed with single-origin tea, sustainable plant-based milk, and just the right amount of sweetness. Our dye-free, instant boba toppings bring the full boba shop experience home—in under a minute.

This is just the start. I envision Twrl as a pantry staple—bringing better-for-you milk tea and customizable boba to every fridge, lunchbox, and grocery shelf. The future of boba is clean-label, culturally rich, and accessible. Twrl isn’t just a brand—it’s a movement to reimagine boba for today’s world.

Heritage

Inspired by Asian flavors that evoke the comforts of home and celebrate their Taiwanese and Chinese heritage, Twrl Milk Tea offers unique blends such as Ube, Hojicha, Jasmine Pu-erh, and Taiwan-Style Black Milk Tea.

Complementing these are their delightful boba toppings like Brown Sugar and Crystal Boba, as well as Strawberry, Honey, and Lychee Popping Boba.

Health

We use non-dairy, plant-based wholesome ingredients with reduced sugar to create milk teas rich in antioxidants.

Our beverages contain nearly three times the antioxidants and L-theanine from  fair-trade mulit-generational family farm teas. Our convenient, low-prep single-serve boba toppings are dye-free (no Red 4 & 40, Yellow 5 & 6).

Community

We support local and AAPI communities, promote underrepresented groups and collaborate on seasonal products to benefit nonprofits.

Sustainability

We source our ingredients from multi-generational family farms that prioritize sustainable and regenerative farming techniques, supporting biodiversity and resilience against climate change. Our milk tea is made with pea milk, the most eco-friendly plant-based milk available. Compared to dairy, almond, oat, or soy milk, pea milk produces 4x fewer carbon emissions, uses 85% less water than almond milk, and requires significantly less fertilizer than oat and soy milk combined—helping us create a more sustainable future, one sip at a time.

Pauline

Pauline, born in Hong Kong and raised in Hawaii, grew up watching her mom, an avid "nai cha" (milk tea) enthusiast, order hot tea with milk at every restaurant. She fell in love with boba milk tea at UC Berkeley and later became a Creative Director, working on branding for Fortune 500 companies like Campbell, Starbucks, and Pepsi.

Inspired by her love of milk tea, she set out to create a delicious yet sustainable brand. In 2020, seeking a healthier, clean-ingredient milk tea, she spent months testing plant milks and perfecting formulations during the pandemic. By 2021, Twrl Milk Tea was born, combining her passion for milk tea with a commitment to family growers and environmental sustainability.
